Ingredients: ------------ 1/2 liter buttermilk* (500mL) 1/2 liter milk (500mL) 75 grams all-purpose flour pinch of salt dark brown sugar or dutch sirup (stroop) Add a pinch of salt to the flour and put in a bowl. Mix with the milk until thick and smooth. Bring the 500mL buttermilk to a boil. Stirring constantly, add the mixture slowly until disolved. While constantly stirring, simmer for another 5 minutes and let cool or eat it warm. Serve with brown sugar or dutch stroop. *Note: The American/Canadian type of buttermilk is much thicker and richer than in the Netherlands. I have not tried going halve buttermilk halve water. |
