Georgia BBQ Sauce


Makes 3-cups of sauce

1-1/2 cup  canned tomato puree
1 cup    vinegar cider
1/2 cup  vegetable oil
1/3 cup  worchestershire sauce
1/2 cup  firmly packed, dark brown sugar
1/4 cup  molasses
3 Tbsp   prepared mustard
2 tsp    minced garlic
1/4 cup  lemon juice, freshly squized

In a large, *non-aluminum* saucepan, combine all ingredients.  simmer for 15
minutes, stirring often to prevent sauce from burning.  Let sauce rest for at 
least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld.  Excellent for beef, pork or chicken.  
I find that, especially if used with chicken, the sugar and molasses enhances 
the taste.  Keep a close eye on the BBQ since the sweetness in the sauce tends 
to burn the meet.  Brush liberally on the meet.
