Ingredients:
6 small or medium cucumbers 4 medium onions 1/2 tsp ginger 1/3 tsp turmeric 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup salt (heaping) 1-1/2 cup water 1 cup vinegar 3/4 tsp mustard seed 3/4 tsp selery seed pinch of black pepper pinch of cummin |
Wash the cucumbers and slice thinly.
Peel, wash, and slice the onions. Combine the cucumbers with the onions and add the salt, mix and let rest for 2 hours. Drain the juice. Heat the vinegar, water, celery seed, mustard seed, sugar, ginger, and turmeric to boil. Add cucumbers and onions. Boil slowly until they are tender. Pack in sterilized mason jars while still hot. |
